What Is the Toyota Adaptive Front Lighting System?

Do you drive on a dark two-lane road on your way home? Are the automatic high beams on your car, truck or crossover just not cutting it? Next-generation Toyota RAV4 models equipped with an Adaptive Front Lighting System and Adaptive Cornering LED Headlights will help you stay safe on the road at night. The Toyota-brand Adaptive Front Lighting System employs LED headlights with Adaptive Cornering technology with a suite of sensors that will monitor steering response and turn signals.
When the system detects a change in direction, it will activate a cornering light and adjust the direction of the beam to illuminate more of the road around corners and curves. By angling the headlights in the direction of travel, the Toyota Adaptive Front Lighting System will widen the area that the headlights cover and illuminate the direction of travel rather than just the sides of the road. Additional light will make hazards or deer on the side of the road more visible and will help keep you safe.
