2019 Toyota Prius Features, Technology and Fuel Economy

Ultra-efficient fuel economy is a hallmark of the Toyota Prius and the next-gen 2019 Toyota Prius will fit the bill with a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine under the hood that pairs with dual high-torque electric motors. Paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission, the Toyota Prius L Eco with front-wheel drive will earn 58 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway. When you add the AWD-e system to the equation, the 2019 Toyota Prius will make 52 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway. Toyota Prius AWD-e employs an independent electric motor on the rear axle that will power the rear wheels at lower speeds and when needed at speeds up to 43 mph.

When you slide into the driver’s seat of the 2019 Toyota Prius, you will find a laundry list of high-tech features that upgrade safety, comfort and entertainment. Toyota Safety Sense™ is standard for all Toyota Prius trim levels and will add a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. A 6.1-inch Toyota Entune™ touchscreen infotainment system is standard and can be upgraded to an 11.6-inch Toyota Entune™ Premium display when you opt for the Prius Limited. Available tech highlights include a Color Head-Up Display, an Adaptive Front Lighting System, Toyota Smart Key technology and Toyota SofTex® upholstery.
